Academic Services

  • Tip: 86 per cent of Canadian recruiters post jobs to LinkedIn. The Career Centre has a tip sheet that helps you build your profile on the social networking tool.
  • Applying for graduate school? Deadlines are coming quickly—some programs close for fall 2019 applications on Saturday, December 15. You can also check out our blog entry about why staying at the university for grad studies will get you further ahead.
  • If you're a BYOD TELE student starting in the winter semester, you can download your software starting Tuesday, January 1. View the winter software distribution page for details.
  • If you're a new Full TELE student starting in the winter semester, you must pick up a laptop starting Thursday, January 3. View the winter laptop distribution page for details. Please note: you must register for a laptop session prior to your visit.

  • Join the Graduating Class Challenge (GCC) Committee! The Alumni office is now seeking volunteers from every faculty. To sign up,visit the GCC Committee page, where you can also view last year’s faculty representatives.
  • Undergraduate Student Research Awards projects will be posted on Monday, December 10. Applications are due on Monday, January 21. Visit the Office of Research Services website for more information, or email

Money Matters

  • There are many scholarship and bursary applications available on MyCampus, under the Awards and Financial Aid tab.
  • If you haven't applied for OSAP yet, it's not too late—apply now.
  • Be sure your winter semester course load matches with what's on your OSAP application—if not, this will delay the release of your funding. Make all necessary updates with the Student Awards and Financial Aid office.
  • Filling out grad school applications? Make sure to also visit the School of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies website for many valuable scholarship opportunities!


  • Tip: Be less sedentary. Try to limit screen time by incorporating movement where you can. 
  • The Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre (CRWC) and the Flex will have adjusted hours during the holiday seasons.
  • The winter 2019 FLEX group fitness schedule is out—visit the CRWC website for details.
  • The Flex has organized a free meditation and mindfulness session in ACE’s hemi-anechoic chamber on Friday, December 14 from noon to 1 p.m. There are limited spaces available.
