Ontario Tech acknowledges the lands and people of the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation.

We are thankful to be welcome on these lands in friendship. The lands we are situated on are covered by the Williams Treaties and are the traditional territory of the Mississaugas, a branch of the greater Anishinaabeg Nation, including Algonquin, Ojibway, Odawa and Pottawatomi. These lands remain home to many Indigenous nations and peoples.

We acknowledge this land out of respect for the Indigenous nations who have cared for Turtle Island, also called North America, from before the arrival of settler peoples until this day. Most importantly, we acknowledge that the history of these lands has been tainted by poor treatment and a lack of friendship with the First Nations who call them home.

This history is something we are all affected by because we are all treaty people in Canada. We all have a shared history to reflect on, and each of us is affected by this history in different ways. Our past defines our present, but if we move forward as friends and allies, then it does not have to define our future.

Listen to these powerful four motivators when you’re feeling low

January 5, 2023

I often listen to these four individuals who are an inspiration to me and have positively impacted my life ever since I began to listen to their videos and podcasts for the lessons they share.

If there’s one thing I hope to convince you of is that self-mastery is the ultimate key to inner peace. We often stop at 40%, which is significantly below one’s true potential and realizing that we can push past this to be the best version of ourselves is imperative.

Ponder hard, write your thoughts down and understand what is holding you back. No one can do it for you. You have to do it for yourself. Please do it. You deserve the best. You must do the hard work now so you may live your best life. Need I say more? These four individuals will sum it up effortlessly. So listen carefully and replay them as much as you need to.

I wouldn’t share these unless I genuinely felt they were helpful. They helped me through some tough times. I hope they will do some good for you too. :)
