Eight throwback movies to watch this Halloween part two

If you haven’t read Hannah Bourke's Eight throwback movies to watch this Halloween, do check it out! I thought I’d carry forward the list with eight more of my favourite Halloween throwbacks. Sit back, grab a Halloween snack, and enjoy!
Twitches (2005)
I had never heard of the Mowry sisters before this movie. I know, I know they’re also from Sister, Sister but that was before my time. Nevertheless, I immediately fell in love with them after watching this movie! The tale of two sisters separated at birth and find out that they’re actually twin… witches #Twitches. There’s something about Disney Channel Originals that are so nostalgic. They remind me of simpler times. I would definitely follow it up with the sequel, Twitches Too to bring the series off to a close.
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005)
I remember seeing this movie in theatres when it first released #throwbackto2005. I was six at the time and this movie was so much fun to watch at that age and even into adulthood. I feel like the excessive candy theme is very fitting for Halloween. The oompa loompas were my favourite and who could forget when violet, turns violet… literally!
Ghostbusters (1984)
I actually didn’t watch Ghostbusters until recently with the hype surrounding the female-led remake that came out in 2016 (which I loved). But, the iconic theme song was enough to reel me in. Sing it with me now, “If there’s something strange, in your neighbourhood. Who you gonna call? Ghostbusters!”
The Addams Family (1991)
The Addams Family are interesting people. I loved everything about this movie because the satire is so entertaining. For example, The Addams kids are selling lemonade and a cute girl scout comes around asking them if the lemonade is made from real lemons. Wednesday Addams asks the girl scout about her cookies:
Iconic. Also iconic, the theme song! Who can forget that theme music!
Coraline (2009)
Coraline freaked me out as a kid (still does). However, the stop-motion production and storyline were very intriguing. The movie includes many Halloween symbols that will definitely put you in the spirit.
Scream (1996)
This thriller will have you at the edge of your seat. While watching the movie, I appreciated the satirical elements that worked to provide some comedic relief. The movie did not take itself too seriously, but was still able to build an element of suspense.
Edward Scissorhands (1990)
Some may argue that this classic is a Christmas movie, but the gothic elements make it perfect for Spooky Season! Edward always gave me Frankenstein vibes.
Witches (1990)
Ronald Dahl was one of my favourite novelists growing up. He brought us books like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Matilda. What a legend! His 1983 book, The Witches, was adapted into the 1990 film. It is a great throwback!
